Hewes Redfishers and Maverick Boats
As Australian representatives for Hewes and Maverick Boats we are pleased to announce that the 2010 models Redfisher 16 and 18 and HPX's are now rolling off the assembly line and ready to be shipped.
Nat has been running a 18 Redfisher since June 2009, this boat has proven itself in Hervey Bays varying conditions and shown to be an exceptional boat to flyfish from.
The boat has a number of standout features, probably most noticable is how quiet the boat sits in the water, wether poling the flats or under power there is virtually no hull slap or noise, and this translates to more fish.
The Hewes hulls are also unbeleivably dry and comfortable thanks to the 50 year evolution of the hull design along with the recessed Trim Tabs that work wonders. As for the seat and backrest, I will never own a boat without a backrest again.

The Redfishers 'little brother', the Hewes Bonefisher 16 was reviewed way back in Flylife Magazine Issue # 8, heres an exerpt from that review -
"The 16 footer is the smallest in the range but this is a very big boat in it's capacity as a sportfishing vessel and I simply cannot imagine a better boat for any inshore fishing. Dont let the low height of the sides of this boat fool you, it handles a mean inshore chop with ease and the cockpit is self draining"
The Redfisher 16 and 18 have now taken over where the Bonefishers left off, and with a handfull of Hewes boats scattered around Australia - and a couple more on order, I think we'll be seeing alot more of these rigs on our waterways in coming years.
The Maverick HPX-V is the top of the list Flats skiff in the US, it was originally designed for longer runs offshore to isolated flats in the Florida Keys area.
It's Kevlar/Carbon composite construction makes the boats easily poled, very strong and able to run less horsepower than other boats making them more economical to run.
We have a 18 HPX-V arriving in Australia late January and it will be in use in Hervey Bay for two months before heading home to Hinchinbrook.

All of these vessels are at home in Bay situations and more and are built to well above Australian safety standards.
